Siloam Springs, Arkansas – February 16 th , 2018 – The Southwestern Assemblies of God University Men’s Basketball team won against John Brown University, 77-71, this evening.

Both teams came off to a very competitive start in the first half of the game. Neither team built a lead higher than 4 points throughout the 20-minute period. SAGU was down, 36-34, going into half time.

Coming back into the game, both teams continued their close battle. Both teams had a total of 14 ties throughout the game. The largest lead of the game (6 points) was attained by SAGU in the last 17 seconds. SAGU won the game 77-71 at the end of regulation.

“Really gutsy performance from the guys last night. Loved how we battled adversity with early foul trouble but made winning plays down the stretch. Huge performances from Jalen Petillo and Josh Swearingin. I’m really lucky to be able to coach these young men of character,” says Head Coach Delton Deal.

The Lions will be playing Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma on Saturday, February 17 th , 2018 at 5:00 P.M.
