The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men and women soccer teams were unable to handle USAO on Saturday. The USAO men are ranked 4th in the SAC , and the women are 1st with their high-powered offense. SAGU men lost 1-5 and the women were defeated 0-8 by the Drovers.

The women had their hands full as USAO had 28 total shots on goal and four corner kicks on their eight goals during the game. Forward, Emma Rice had eight shots on goal and put in four with one assist against the Lady Lions. The Drovers had five different players score and six different players with assists. SAGU had four shots on goal and five shots total against the 16th team in the nation. Sarah Palmer had a double-digit save day with ten total saves over the course of the game. The Lady Lions are in the top 35 nationally in the following categories; 22nd with 4.00 goals allowed per game, 28th in total saves with 117, and 35th with 7.80 saves per game. Their last regular season game of the year will be this Saturday as they travel to Arkansas to face John Brown University for a 3 pm start.

On the men’s side, USAO has a similar game plan with 13 shots on goal and 27 total shots for five goals and three assists. Each of the five goals were scored by different players during the game. Heriberto Diaz scored in the 65th minute of the game and now has extended his scoring streak to four straight games with a goal. Goalie, Jose Ladoriel had five saves in the first half and three in the second for a total of eight. Their next match will be against Bacone College in Oklahoma on October 23rd at 3 pm.
