Waxahachie, TX .- Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men’s soccer played their last non-conference game on Saturday in Waxahachie, TX against the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV). UHV beat the Lions (0-6-1, 0-0-0) 6-0 in the 3:30 pm matchup.

Lion Review

  • UHV competes in the Red River Athletic Conference and improved to 8-0 on the year with the win against the Lions.
  • UHV scored 3 goals in a span of 1:38 to complete all the scoring they would need to win the game against SAGU.
  • Twenty-eight fouls were called in the game with 17 on SAGU and 11 on UHV. SAGU had six yellow cards and one red card during the match.
  • Mid-fielder Mario Banegas (JR/Progreso, Honduras) led the Lions with 4 shots and 2 shots on goal.

On Tuesday, the 24 th of September the Lions (0-6-1, 0-0-0) will begin their conference schedule by traveling to Ft. Worth, TX for a 7:00 pm contest with Texas Wesleyan University.
