SAGU Women’s Soccer Midfielder Natalia Soloria

Sherman, TX – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s soccer took a break from Sooner Athletic Conference play on Thursday evening and traveled to Sherman, TX to play a contest against NCAA Division III Austin College (AC). SAGU (2-11-0) played a close match but lost 2-1 to AC.

Lady Lion Review

  • Natalia Torres (JR/Royse City, TX) played a ball from the endline into the box and Natalie Soloria (SR/Dallas, TX) found the back of the net in the 7 th minute to give SAGU a 1-0 lead.
  • SAGU outshot AC in the match 14-8 and 8-7 in shots-on-goal. SAGU held a 12-3 shot advantage in the second half.
  • Sarah Palmer (SR/Grapevine, TX) managed five saves on the night.
  • SAGU had multiple opportunities to score in the second half. Unfortunately, SAGU had a tying goal deleted when they were ruled offside and missed a shot from close in wide left late in the game.

The Next Step

  • The Lady Lions finish out their week of three matches by returning to Sooner Athletic Conference Action on Saturday, October 19 th , against the Oklahoma City University Stars in Oklahoma City, OK at 5:00 pm.
