Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) th Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU)

The Lady Lions started off competing with the Lady Saints early on in the first quarter, but due to back to back turnovers for SAGU, things quickly got out of hand. The Lady Lions were forced to play catch-up in the second quarter.  The third quarter, SAGU outscored OLLU 22-21. The Lady Lions finished with 41 turnovers, which was detrimental to their offensive flow and determined the outcome of the game.

Sophomore Lexi Rich led the Lady Lions with 24 points, shooting 60 percent from behind the arc. Ebony Colbert followed with 10 points. Korede Ahmedu led the Lady Lions in rebounds with 10.

“It’s never easy to lose and we lost a tough one.  This team is capable of so much, but OLLU is a very talented team that makes you play fast for 40 minutes.  This was a good test for us early on.  We found weaknesses that we need to improve on and we will do that Monday.  This team is easy to believe in and they are ready to go back to work to improve some things,” Head Coach Tiffany Phillips concludes.

Francesca Patrick led the Lady Saints with 22 points. Destinee King led OLLU in boards with 14. The Lady Saints only had 14 turnovers, which made the difference in the game.

The Lady Lions will host their annual SAGU Classic tournament this weekend. November 10 th at 6pm the Lady Lions will take on Texas College and November 11 th at 11am they will compete against University of St. Thomas .
