SAGU Gets Ranked in Top 5 Online Colleges in Texas Waxahachie, Texas – March 1, 2017 – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) was recently ranked in the top five online colleges in Texas by Affordable Colleges Online for the 2016-2017 school year.

According to, “The colleges that made the list of the Best Online Colleges in Texas for 2016-2017 have a demonstrated a record of excellence in delivering online programs and support to students at the post-secondary level.”

Affordable Colleges Online ranked the best online colleges in the state with information gathered by researchers and postsecondary experts. Their goal is to find colleges that offer a balance in academics, student support and affordability concerning online education. SAGU was ranked fourth out of the 47 colleges listed including Dallas Baptist University , University of Houston-Victoria and Wayland Baptist University .

Factors considered in the ranking included in-state tuition and fees for undergraduate students, the count and breadth of online programs available, student-to-faculty ratio, the percentage of students receiving scholarship/grant aid from the college and availability of job placement services for students and graduates.

SAGU offers over 50 online programs including bachelor and master’s degrees in Education, Theology, and Psychology.

For 25 years, SAGU has been committed to offering quality, Christian-based, distance education programs. SAGU’s distance education options allow students to conveniently attain degrees and/or vocational training from anywhere.
