Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) football National Signing Day

“This is our third recruiting class and each year it seems to get a little bit deeper,” explains SAGU Head Coach Frank Tristan , “I’m excited for this recruiting class, not only for the talent that these young men possess, but also their understanding in what it means to be a Christian athletes.”

For the first time in program history, the Lions landed recruits from Texas State Champions in both 6A 1 and 6A 2 schools. Michael Mast and Aidan Estrada will be heading to Waxahachie from Lake Travis High School , who won the 6A Division 1 State Championship.  Estrada (linebacker) was awarded the Defensive Most Valuable Player in the State Championship game.

Terrell Edwards is a linebacker from Desoto, Texas.  Edwards was a part of the 6A Division 2 State Championship team.

“Our coaches have done a phenomenal job of getting to know each player and their families.  We are excited to see what the next four years holds for each of these young men,” says Tristan.
