Week-two is approaching quickly for the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) football team, they will once again be on the road this Saturday in Sherman, Texas against Austin College . The game will kick off at 1 pm facing the familiar opponent Austin College Kangaroos who are led by 8th year Head Coach Loren Dawson and junior returning quarterback Colt Collins .

This will be the first game of the 2018-2019 season for the Kangaroos in this NAIA/NCAA showdown. The Kangaroos went 3-7 last season with 2 of their wins against NAIA opponents; Wayland Baptist University and Bacone College .

The Lions have won the past 2 matchups against Austin College and have gone 4-6 the past 10 times they’ve played. The most recent matchup was in 2016 when the Lions won 23-17 and finished 6-4 for the season. Quarterback Lincoln Kenitzer completed 21/30 of his passes for 228 yards and 2 TDs, DB Carl Morgan had 2 interceptions on 7 tackles and the running backs rushed 40 times for a total of 220 yards.
