Siloam Springs, Arkansas- December 5, 2015- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men’s basketball team continued their undefeated streak in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) after beating John Brown University (JBU), 81-69.  SAGU is now 8-2 overall and 2-0 in the SAC.  JBU is 5-2 overall and 0-2 in the SAC.

“We played our best game of the year as a team.  Defensively and offensively we worked together, executed and put together a nice SAC road win.  JBU has a nice team,” says head coach Donnie Bostwick .

The Lions jumped to an early lead and held it for the game.  With 0:39 left in the half, SAGU’s Keyunta Watkins put the Lions up by 14 after two made free throws.  JBU answered with three free throws in a row.  At halftime, the Lions were up 40-29.

SAGU’s lead grew to 22 points after Micah Gentry made a three point shot with 1:06 left to play.  In the final 0:50, JBU scored seven points, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome of the game.  The Lions topped the Golden Eagles 81-69.
