Coach Moore started working at SAGU in 1998.  For the first two years he served in the role as Athletic Director.  Since 2001, Moore has been in his current role with the volleyball team.

Athletic Director Jesse Godding is thankful for Moore’s eagerness to serve SAGU over the years, “Many people don’t realize that Hank Moore has served as athletic director, assistant football coach, intramural director, faculty member and volleyball coach during his tenure.   His desire to serve the kingdom of God at SAGU has been evident throughout his years of service.”

“I have always had a great peace in believing that we are in the center of God’s will. We love SAGU and feel truly honored to be a part of what God is doing here at the University,” says Moore.

Over the past 14 seasons Moore has averaged an impressive 20 wins a year.  He has had roughly 200 girls go through his program at SAGU alone.  Moore also spends his off-season coaching club volleyball, impacting hundreds of other local players over the years.

Moore is the first SAGU coach to achieve 300 wins in any sport while coaching only at SAGU.  Others have achieved this milestone but at a combination of schools.

“300 is a number, but seeing our volleyball players being used by the Lord and to see players becoming what God wants them to be is so much more important.  I am truly humbled to be at this juncture of my career,” explains Moore.

Moore has been married to Lori for 30 years and together they live in Waxahachie.  They have two sons, Nicholas and Lucas, who both attend SAGU.  Nicholas has spent the past two years coaching with his dad.
