Waxahachie, Texas- January 7, 2016- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) basketball teams will restart Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) play when they take on Southwestern Christian on Thursday, January 07, 2016.  SAGU will travel to Bethany, Oklahoma for the contest.

The Lions are currently 11-3 for the season and 2-0 in the SAC.  They are currently ranked no. 18 in the NAIA.  SAGU is also in a three-way tie for the top spot in the young SAC season.

Southwestern Christian University’ s men’s team is currently 3-7 overall and 0-2 in the SAC.  The Eagles are coming off of a 81-77 win over Bethany College .

For the women, SCU is currently 4-8 overall and 1-1 in the SAC.  The Lady Eagles are coming into the game with a four-game losing streak.

On Monday, the Lady Lions topped St. Thomas-Houston 65-51.  They are now 7-6 overall and 0-2 for the SAC.

SAGU will travel to Southwestern Christian.  The women play at 6pm, followed by the men at 8pm.  Live stats can be found HERE .

On Saturday, January 9, 2016, basketball returns to SAGU.  The Lions will host University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.  USAO men’s team is currently 6-3 overall and 1-0 in the SAC.  The Lady Drovers are 1-5 overall and 0-1 in the SAC.  The doubleheader begins at 3pm.
