Waxahachie, Texas- January 19, 2016- Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men’s basketball team is pleased to announce the first ever Father/Son Hoop it Up day .  The event will be a collaboration between SAGU, Waxahachie Autoplex a nd Waxahachie Chick-fil-A .

On Saturday, January 23, 2016, all father and sons are invited to meet at Chick-fil-A at 2:15pm.  Waxahachie Autoplex will be there with brand new cars for attendees to caravan over to SAGU in.  Once at SAGU, the Lions will take on Wayland Baptist beginning at 3pm.  Grandfathers and male guardians are welcome to attend as well.

At the game the Chick-fil-A cow will be throwing out souvenir basketballs.  Also, a Chick-fil-A boxed meal will be served to each Father/Son Hoop It Up attendee while at the basketball game.

Cost is $7 per person, which takes care of the meal and entrance to the game.  You must make a reservation ahead of time and can do so by calling Laure or Reba at 972-937-1504.  You can also email [email protected] .  Credit card information will be needed at time of reservation.

Currently SAGU is in first place in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) with a record of 5-1 in the SAC and 14-4 overall.  On Thursday, January 21, 2016, the Lions will play second place Mid-America Christian.  MACU is ranked no. 15 in the NAIA and SAGU is ranked no. 18.

On Saturday, the day of the Father/Son Hoop it Up event, SAGU will take on Wayland Baptist.  WBU is currently ranked no. 24 in the NAIA and fifth in the SAC. Saturday’s game is sure to be competitive so come out ready to cheer on the Lions to victory.
