Ben Bills has been announced to the Second Team All-Sooner Athletic Conference baseball team as a 1st baseman. One 1st baseman was awarded on each team, Bills is a 6’1 sophomore from York, Pennsylvania . The PA native came to SAGU this past year after transferring from Nyack College , a Division-2 in New York City .
Bills is ranked in the top 30 of the SAC in 15 different categories as a hitter; 4th doubles (18), 6th doubles per game (0.33), 8th in triples with two, 9th in batting average at 0.377, 11th slugging percentage (0.610), 12th with 97 total bases, 13th in total hits with 60, 14th in triples per game (0.04), 16th in total bases per game (1.8), 20th with five home runs, 21st with 40 runs, 22nd in hits per game (1.11) and runs scored per game (0.74), 23rd in home runs per game (0.09), and 30th with 29 RBI’s.
Bills helped the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions to one of the best seasons in school history. The highlight of the season was when the sophomore hit a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the 9th inning of the conference semi-final game against Southwestern Christian University . His fifth home run of the season sent SAGU to the SAC conference championship game where their season would end to University of Science and Arts. SAGU finished 2nd in the tournament with an overall record of 24-30 and 8-19 in the SAC.
Southwestern Assemblies of God University is a private, Christian university located 30 minutes south of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in Waxahachie, Texas.
