This season he has passed for 2,142 yards, averaging 267 passing yards per game. Lowery is one rushing touchdown away from the SAGU season record of 12. Bickham is the career rusher in SAGU football history with 2,215 yards.
Defensively, SAGU is ranked 12th in the NAIA. The Lions are giving up only 323.8 yards per game. Carl Morgan is tied for career interceptions with 18 and Matt Lighter is the SAGU career sacks leader with 17.5 sacks.
Langston is ranked first in defensive pass efficiency and scoring defense per game. Coach Frank Tristan knows how much this game means to his squad and how hard they have worked to get to this point. Tristan said, “This is going to be a really tough game. Langston has a phenomenal defense and they are really explosive. They require a ton of preparation because they do so many things so well. Our guys are excited for the opportunity.”
The SAGU vs. Langston game was also chosen as the NAIA Game of the Week by fan voting and will be broadcasted live on the SAGU Sports Network. Game time is set for 2:00 PM at Lumpkins Stadium in Waxahachie, Texas.
