Sanctuary Network Meeting Waxahachie, Texas – February 3, 2017 – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) alumnus Ryan Beaty recently launched the Sanctuary Network , an organization committed to providing much-needed support for ministers in the Houston area.

The Sanctuary Network seeks to accomplish their goals of “sacred safety” by providing members monthly networking and resourcing gatherings, weekly ministerial support groups and exclusive discounted access to personal help partners around the city.

Beaty says that Sanctuary Network was created because “ministry is hard.” Through his own ministerial challenges, Beaty realized the importance of rest and community in order to experience longevity in ministry. Sanctuary Network is just that, a place of rest and community for ministers – by ministers and with ministers.

Beaty notes that rest and care are vital for ministers and their family members. “If we did a better job of it, would we save more ministers and their families for the ministry?” Beaty asked.

Beaty graduated from SAGU in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in Church Ministry and went on to earn his M. Div. at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary . Since graduation, he served as a children’s and youth pastor, Programs and Outreach Coordinator for the national Royal Ranger’s office and has planted a church in Houston.

In response to advice he would give to prospective ministers, Beaty says, “From the beginning, find people outside of your local church that you can trust – people who will be there for the long haul that you can be vulnerable with and can help bear your burdens.”

The network is currently available to ministers of all denominations in the Harris County area of Houston. The network is open to members free of charge until May of this year. The organization is also open to expansion in order to reach as many people as possible.
