Along with a dedication to offering premium craft coffee, White Rhino Coffee has always strived to add value to the community. With its new location in Waxahachie, TX, owner and SAGU alumnus Chris Parvin believes that this branch will provide an opportune meeting space for locals and a tool for ministry and fellowship between Christians and non-Christians.
“For us, trying to provide the table and the space to facilitate the growth of relationships and the community—that’s what we are all about,” says Parvin.
White Rhino’s new location can comfortably seat approximately 100 customers. There is a community meeting room that can entertain a variety of events and seating configurations. There is a library space for those who would like to quietly work without interruptions. An indoor and outdoor performance stage is available for local musicians to showcase their talents.
With its wide range of features and accommodations, Parvin is positioning White Rhino Coffee + Kitchen around the idea of community.
Chris Parvin attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) in Waxahachie and graduated in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. “When I was here for college, I fell in love with this community,” Parvin says. “It has steadily been on my radar since then.”
“Waxahachie has always been at the front of that because we feel like it is a community that we love, shares our values and has a need for a restaurant like ours. It was really always at the top of the list.”
Parvin also stated the impact that SAGU has had on his life. “SAGU is the reason I was successful in life. I cannot underestimate the value of SAGU and its influence on my life and marketplace ministry. I met my wife there and we have been happily married since.”
“When I first went to SAGU, I was new to the faith. I was a new Christian and I learned a lot about my faith—and at the same time, I was educated in business. To also have the mentoring relationships with my professors—bottom line, it gave me the tools I needed to go on in life and be successful. For example, after SAGU, I was able to go to law school and get the highest grades I have ever made, because SAGU gave me a foundation.”
White Rhino celebrated its grand opening on May 26 and is now open for business. To learn more about White Rhino Coffee + Kitchen, click here to visit their website.
