The semi-finals are set for the Sooner Athletic Conference volleyball tournament after Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) swept Mid-America Christian University three sets to zero. At Oklahoma City University (OCU) on Friday the 9th, the first match will be against Southwestern Christian University and OCU at 4:30 pm then SAGU vs. Texas Wesleyan will follow at 7 pm.

SAGU and TWU split in their two matches over the course of the year, SAGU swept them on September 18th and TWU swept the Lady Lions October 30th. The winners will play for a chance to be named SAC Tournament champ and a bid for the NAIA national tournament.

The quarter-final match against MACU had contributions from different players across the board. Kali Shaw with 17 kills, three assists, and nine digs. Sophia Ivy had 42 assists, seven digs, and two assists. Libero, Celi Bruce was absolutely everywhere with 23 digs that frustrated their attackers unable to connect on their kills. Outside hitter, Kennedy Wiley had the game-winning kill to go along with 11 other kills and two digs and Suzanny Figueiredo with nine kills, seven digs.


Southwestern Assemblies of God University is a private, Christian university located 30 minutes south of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex in Waxahachie, Texas.
