Waxahachie, Texas – May 29, 2017- The National Christian Colleges Athletic Association (NCCAA) has released their list of the best in the nation and Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) softball pitcher Rachel Ray was on a Third Team All-American pick.

Ray is a 6’0 junior from Brazoria, Texas .  On the mound, Ray pitched 170 innings and had 141 strike outs.  She also picked up 12 wins.

“I am extremely excited for Rachel and this prestigious recognition,” explains SAGU Head Coach Sarah Harman , “She has been working through an injury all season long and still was successful for us in the circle.  Rachel consistently performs on the field at an elite level And her work ethic and dedication is outstanding. She is a wonderful representative of the SAGU softball program”

This isn’t the only post-season honor Ray has received.  She was also named to the 2 nd Team Sooner Athletic Conference.
