Globe of the World One of the seven core values at SAGU is establishing and maintaining missions-mindedness. Mission Ten is a new opportunity for SAGU to actively express this value and participate in evangelism throughout the world.

Recently, the SAGU Missions department made a concerted effort to embrace the Great Commission. The outcome of this desire was the vision of to have everyone “pray for every nation, proclaim the Gospel in every nation, and send missionaries to every nation.” Mission Ten is the vehicle for this goal.

In 2009-2010, 103 students engaged in a total of 15 trips, traveling to 17 of the 261 countries that Mission Ten aims to reach. The teams went to Bangladesh, Costa Rica, Northern Asia, France, Ghana, North India (Bihar/Uttarakhand/West Bengal), South India (Tamil Nadu), Kenya, Moldova, Peru, Rwanda, South Africa, Vietnam, Sweden, Uganda, Oman, and Mexico. In addition to the Mission Ten trips, the Jazz band journeyed with a team of 6 to Malaysia. Dr. Leroy Bartel, SAGU Dean for Bible and Church Ministries, also ministered in the Philippines and Mongolia.

The projected list includes 30 more trips to several new countries. The vision is to reach 261 countries by the end of ten years. Mission Ten is an incredible opportunity to witness to individuals in every nation. It is the prayer of SAGU that we can play a roll in ensuring that “Every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord,” and that they will experience the blessings of the Holy Spirit.

Membership requirements for the organization entail being a current SAGU student, staff, faculty, or recent alumni (2010 and after), visiting a country for three days, and communicating the Gospel message to any unsaved person. Anyone interested in satisfying these needs is encouraged to join in this opportunity to impact the world for Christ.
