Waxahachie, Texas- February 19, 2016- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader to MidAmerica Nazarene (1-0, 4-0).  The SAGU Lions are now 8-6 for the season and MidAmerica is 5-0.

In game one, MidAmerica’s pitcher Phillipe Graham , threw a no-hitter.  He pitched all seven innings and had 10 strike outs.

SAGU’s Jacob Keltner wasn’t far behind.  Keltner pitched all seven innings and had five strike-outs, four hits and no walks.

The game remained scoreless until the top of the sixth inning.  MANU’s first batter flied out to right field.  Next, Lenzie Foler reached base on Keltner’s wild throw. Logan Tills reached base on another SAGU bobble, advancing Tills to second on a stolen base.  A passed ball by Griffin Glenn allowed Foley to score the only run of the game. The Lions were able to get out of the inning with one MANU player stranded on base.

In the second game, SAGU was able to get a bit more traction offensively; however it was not enough to score. Josh Terry and Griffin Glenn each went two for four. Tallon Ralstin was one for three with a double.

SAGU’s Brandon Ventura pitched six innings.  He had seven strike outs and six hits. Mark Martinez comes in relief and pitches the final inning and had two strike outs.

The Lions will finish the home stand on Saturday, February 20, 2016.  Game one starts at 11am.
