The weather held off yesterday and the Lions were able to play a non-conference battle against cross town opponent Dallas Christian College . After a tough match on Tuesday against FNU, they fixed some necessary assignments during practice and executed right from the jump. Freshman mid-fielder Guillermo Estrada from Mesquite, TX scored within the first 5 minutes of the game. Then the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) went on a tirade scoring 4 goals in less than 20 minutes of play before halftime with a score of 5-0. In those 4 goals, four different Lions scored Heriberto Diaz, Bryan Callejas, Mattias Roth , and Mazvita Chidarara each had 1.  The Lions went on to win 7-1 with an impressive 21 shots on goals compared to DCC 4 shots on goal for the game. Goalie, Chris Thorman had an impressive game saving 3 of Dallas Christian’s 4 shots on the night, ranking him 29 th in the nation for total saves at 19 for the 2018-2019 season. Thorman is a junior college transfer from Jacksonville College located in East Texas.

With that win it improves the Lions schedule to 2-3-1. The Lions will take on LSU-Shreveport next week, on Monday, in Waxahachie at home. This should be a good matchup as the Pilots just defeated Dallas Christian College (DCC) 15-0. They are currently top 10 in the nation in 6 categories (shots per game, shots on goal per game, total assist, assist per game, goals per game, and total games), next week’s game will begin at 4 pm.
