Waxahachie, TX – The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Men’s Basketball team received 80 points in the most recent preseason poll. This put them third in voting amongst the teams in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC). In route to the programs second SAC Tournament Title in three years, the 2019 team was able to take down both top seeded Mid- America Christian and John Brown. SAGU was one of five teams from the SAC to be a part of the 2020 NAIA Division I Championship Tournament Field.

Season Opener
  • On Friday, October 23rd  the Lions will host Dallas Christian College here at the Sheaffer Center. Start time is scheduled for 7:00pm
Delton Deal
  • “Excited for the season to start and ready to pick up where we left off last season. We have returners and a couple new guys that I think will continue to help our success now and in the future.”
 
Sooner Athletic Conference Championship
  • The SAC Tournament is set to start February 25th with the quarterfinals being held at league campuses. The conference tournament semifinals and championship will be March 1-2 at Mid-America Christian’s Gaulke Activity Center in Oklahoma City.
  • National-tournament bids will go to the SAC regular-season and tournament champions. The NAIA Championship Opening Round, a new part of the national tournament, will take place March 12-13 at various sites throughout the country. The NAIA Championship Tournament will be held March 18-23 at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo.
