Men’s basketball is slated at 3-0 after a 107-53 win over Southwest Adventist on November 6th, the Knights made a 3 their first possession and they wouldn’t lead after that. The Lions largest lead of the game was 62 with 2:55 left in the second half.

Sophomore guard, Josh Kashila knocked down nine of his 11 shots for a season-high of 21 points, nine rebounds, four assists, one steal, and zero turnovers in just over 22 minutes of play. Four other Lions had double-digit nights; Mechiah Zilkoski (18 6-9 from 3), Cameron Hill (14 4-5 from 3), Nyk Mason (12), and Adrian Palacios (11). Next in rebounding behind Kashila was Dareny Sims with eight to go along with eight points, six assists, two steals, and one block. Transfer point guard, Cameron McGee led the Lions with seven assists on the win. The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) shot 55.8% from the field and 52.8% from 3.

After the win this rankings SAGU in the top 20 nationally in multiple categories; steals per game 2nd (15.33), total steals 5th (46), assists per game 7th (23.33), defensive field goal percentage 7th (33.8%), field goal percentage 9th (54.3%), free throw percentage 10th (78.3%), scoring margin 10th (34), defensive rebounding 11th (29.67), 3-pointers made per game 12th (11.67), total assists 13th (70), total rebound margin 13th (15.33), total 3 pointers made 14th (35), 3-point field goal percentage 15th (43.8%), scoring offense per game 16th (99), and scoring defense per game 18th (65).

Their next match will be against NCAA tournament team Stephen F. Austin on Thursday, 11/8 at 6:30 pm in Nacogdoches, TX . SFA beat Sooner Athletic Conference member Texas Wesleyan University by 12 on Tuesday night. The game will be live broadcasted on ESPN3 and WatchESPN App.
