Oklahoma City, Oklahoma- September 30, 2015- The Oklahoma City University (OCU) men’s and women’s soccer team handed over two losses to the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions and Lady Lions.  The women’s team lost 4-0 and the men fell 4-0.  Both teams are now 0-1 in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC).

At halftime, the Lady Lions score was 1-0.  OCU’s Sara Ricks scored in the 12 th minute of the game.  In a five minute period early in the second half, OCU scored three times (55:02, 58:35, 59:45). Allison Worsham was able to score two of those goals for the Lady Stars.  The final goal of the game came at 84:07, when Carissa Turong found the back of the net.

SAGU goal keeper Alaina Jones had 10 saves while allowing five goals.  The Lady Lions had three shots on goal.

Ironically the men’s team had the same situation as the women’s game.  Over a five minute period, OCU was able to score three goals (25:08, 28:36, 30:57).  Logan Stewart pulled off a hat trick, scoring the final three goals of the game.

The Lions and Lady Lions will be back in action with another SAC game on Saturday, October 3, 2015. University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma will be playing at SAGU.  The women’s game begins at 1:00pm and the men follow at 3:00pm. SAGU Sports Network will be broadcasting the games live.  USAO men’s team is currently ranked no. 20 in the NAIA.
