Sydney Meador of the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s basketball team has been named National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Divison-1 Player of the Week. Meador is a returning guard from Denton, TX , where she played high school at Denton Guyer High School in the metroplex. She averaged 13.5 points per game last week, six rebounds, and three steals during their games against Oklahoma Panhandle State University and Wayland Baptist University. In Sooner Athletic Conference play, she ranked 4th in free throw percentage (82.6%), 19th in ppg with over 12 a game, 29th with 1.24 steals per game and 26 total steals, 34th in made three-pointers with 20, and 35th in 3-pointers made per game at 0.95. Nationally, she ranked 13th with an overall free-throw percentage of 84.1% connecting on 95 of her 113 free-throw attempts. You can catch Meador and the Lady Lions Tuesday night in the Sheaffer Center at 7 pm for the first round of the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament against Mid-America Christian University with the winner advancing to the semi-finals.
