Waxahachie, TX – Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men’s basketball team open conference play against Oklahoma Panhandle State University (OPSU). Dominant from the start, the Lions followed a game plan that helped them take a 20-point lead into the half. The second half was all Lions as they extended their lead to 32 points, with a final score of 99 to 67. The Lions enter play Saturday without their Head Coach, but that didn’t seem to be a problem for a mature resilient team. Able to show that the fire power is still there, and that they’re ready to compete, this matchup with OPSU was significant because it symbolizes the start of conference play in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC).
