Waxahachie, Texas – September 18, 2016 – The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men’s soccer team continued their winning ways after topping Texas College 1-0.  The Lions scored their goal in the second overtime.  This was SAGU’s second overtime victory in a row.


It took 104 minutes for SAGU to score, but five minutes into the second overtime, Isai Velasquez crossed a ball from a corner kick and Marx Mora scored off a header.

SAGU’s goalkeeper Edgar Chavez had an impressive seven saves in the net.

SAGU is enjoying their best start to the season ever; they are 6-0-1.  On Tuesday, September 20, 2016 the Lions will travel to play Texas A&M-Texarkana at 7pm.  TAMT is currently 2-6 for the season.
