Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men’s soccer Texas College
The men battled a nerve racking first half. Freshman Mazvita Chidarara scored the first goal of the game. The Texas College Steers closed out the rest of the half by responding with 2 goals of their own.
18 minutes left into the second half of the game, the Lions tied the score 2-2 with the goal coming from junior Miguel Torres . Texas College capitalized on a mistake made on the Lion’s behalf following a saved shot attempt and scored their third goal off their reattempt. The game ended with the Lions down 3-2.
“These next few days, our team needs to come together and regroup. We need to not only visualize ourselves as Lions, but as starving Lions,” says assistant coach Cesar Espana , “We are desperate need of a win and I sincerely believe that with the right team mentality, we will be able to get it this Thursday.”
The Lions will play Huston Tillotson at 3:00 P.M. this Thursday at home.
