Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men’s basketball NAIA Men’s Basketball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll

In the two weeks since the last poll was announced, SAGU had a 4-1 record.  The highlight was a 76-73 win over no. five (at the time) ranked Oklahoma City University .  OCU currently is ranked no. eight in the new poll.  SAGU’s one loss came from John Brown University .  The Golden Eagles topped SAGU 71-64.

Overall, the Lions are 14-4 for the season.  Three of their four losses have come from nationally ranked teams; Wiley College (no. 11), LSU-Alexandria (no. 1) and Texas Wesleyan (no. 12).

The Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) lands the most teams in the Top 25 with four: Oklahoma City , Texas Wesleyan , SAGU and Mid-America Christian .

Mid-America Christian is the reigning NAIA National Champions.  On Thursday, January 19, 2017, SAGU will host MACU in the Sheaffer Gymnasium.  Game time is at 8pm.  The game will be broadcast live by SAGU Sports Network .
