The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) basketball teams swept Texas Wesleyan University for the second time this season giving them a 4-0 combined record on the women and men side. The women dominated the first half winning it 37-23 and an overall score of 67-54. The men came from behind being down at the end of the first half, to, later on, win their 15th game of the season, 87-80.

The Lady Lions had their best defensive conference game of the season only allowing 54 points in this matchup. Lexi Rich and Jenna Price led the way as Rich scored 25 points with this being her third 20 point game in a row. Price had her 10th double-double of the season with 16 points and 14 rebounds, she is second in the Sooner Athletic Conference behind USAO’s Vivian Holcomb . They were able to hold the Rams to a mere 31.8% shooting percentage and 23.1% from 3. SAGU stays put in 3rd with a big one on Thursday night against 1st place opponent Oklahoma City University at 6 pm in Waxahachie .

The men got contributions from Nyk Mason (26), Darian Davis (18), Josh Kashila (15), and Mitch McMullen (12) with all of them being in double-figures. Mason had his fourth double-double of the season which is top ten in the SAC after grabbing 13 rebounds and dishing out five assists. Boaz Williams was next in rebounds with six to go along with eight points in 14 minutes on the night. Kashila also had a game-high of three steals for the Lions which was a huge part of their 10 steals as a team. Game two of the week will be against 3rd place opponent OCU at 8 pm Thursday night, 2/6.
