Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s basketball Dallas Christian

From the very start the Lady Lions held the lead in the game.  However, at the end of the first quarter, DCC was able to pull within seven points after C. Hawkins made two free throws.  The score at the end of the first was 17-10.

With 8:30 left in the first half, SAGU’s Laken Ward sank two free throws to put the Lady Lions lead to double digits.  At halftime SAGU was up 30-13.

The second half was dominated by the Lady Lions.  At one point they were able to extend their lead to 49 points.

All five of the SAGU starters scored in the double digits. Laken Ward and Alexus McAfee each had 10 points. Lexi Rich and Taylor Sims both added 14 and Charity Page had 22 points.

Laken Ward pulled in an impressive 18 rebounds and Charity Page had 14.  Page also had two steals for SAGU.  The Lady Lions out rebounded Dallas Christian 66 to 28.  Dallas Christian did force 19 SAGU turnovers.

The Lady Lions will play Texas College on Saturday, November 5, 2016.  Game time is at 5pm.
