Waxahachie, Texas- February 25, 2016- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men’s and women’s basketball team will be celebrating their seniors on Saturday, February 27, 2016 when they play Mid-America Christian in the final regular-season game of the season.  For the Lady Lions, Taylor Hill, Bethany Krock and Meghan Becker will be honored.

This might be head coach Tiffany Phillips first season as a Lady Lion, but according to her, she has plenty to brag about when it comes to her three seniors, “”I couldn’t have asked for a better group of seniors for my first head college coaching job. They have set the standards high for the other groups and they have started something very special here at SAGU with the women’s basketball program. I know that their legacy will continue to live on and I know that I will miss them all dearly. They have truly touched my life.”

Below is Coach Phillips talking about each senior in her own words.

Taylor Hill : “Taylor and I were able to spend a lot of time together this summer working out and adding to her game. She is one of the hardest workers and wants to be the best. She is an incredibly gifted basketball player but she is an even better woman of God. She has grown so much this year and it has been a blessing to watch her develop her game and become an even better leader.”

Bethany Krock : “Bethany is someone who didn’t get much of an opportunity before this year and she had it in her mind that she was going to outwork people and earn a spot. She told me, “coach I want to be so good that you don’t have a choice but to play me.” And she has done just that. She is what I call a spark plug. She always gives us a lift when we need it. She is an outstanding young woman and I have no doubt that she will be successful in whatever she does.”

Meghan Becker: “Meghan was coming off of an ACL injury that cost her hr junior season at SAGU. She worked extremely hard to get back in time to play. She was working out with a trainer all summer and doing double duty in the gym. She was determined to be an impact player this year and she has certainly done that. She is such a pleasure to coach and be around.”

On Saturday, Hill, Krock and Becker will be honored before the 3pm tip-off against Mid-America Christian.  Earlier in the season, SAGU topped MACU, 75-68.  The game will be broadcast live HERE .
