Southwestern Assemblies of God Univerisity (SAGU) women’s soccer Bacone College Sooner Athletic Conference
The Lady Lions offense pressed forward in the first half against Bacone College. SAGU found the back of the net twice in this first half. The first goal was by senior Nadine Jaimes with an assist from freshman Lesley Zamarripa 15 minutes into regulation. The second goal was by Lauryn Cabudol 30 minutes into regulation.
In the second half, the ball was controlled mostly by the Lady Lions. SAGU allowed Bacone only three shot opportunities. Though the ball was mostly controlled by the Lady Lions, the Bacone goal keeper did a great job at protecting the net. The game came to an end with a final score of 2-0.
“I’m really proud of how well our forwards were connecting with each other by making extra runs and also how well our entire team did when it came to controlling the ball. This opened many opportunities for us to attempt for a goal,” explains SAGU Assistant Coach Sarah Porter .
The Lady Lions will be playing Central Christian College on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 3:30 P.M in McPherson, Ks.
