Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) softball Bacone College

Head coach Sarah Harman is happy with the way both games ended, “We battled all day and having two walk-offs made the day very exciting.  I’m just really proud of how we played together as a team.”

Game One (W 4-3)

Bacone scored all three of their runs within the first three innings, taking a 3-0 lead.  In the bottom of the fourth, SAGU’s Cheyenne Fults hit a homerun over the left field fence on a 1-1 count.

SAGU scored another run in the bottom of the sixth when Kristin Stringer hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Kayla Milstead .  At the end of six, Bacone was up 3-2.

In the bottom of the seventh the pressure was on.  With bases loaded, Destinee Vindiola reached base on the fielder’s choice, scoring Rieanha Cano .  Once again with bases loaded, Cheyenne Fults singled to shallow left-center, scoring Bailey Balloun and winning the game.

Cheyenne Fults went two for four with one home run, two RBI’s and one run scored.

SAGU’s Rachel Ray pitched all seven innings.

Game Two (W 4-3)

Game two started very similar to game one, with Bacone pulling ahead at the first of the game.  Bottom of the fourth, SAGU scored one run off of three hits, cutting the Lady Warriors lead 2-1.

In the bottom of the fifth, Cheyenne Fults hit a home run over the center field fence on a full count.

In the bottom of the seventh, Bailey Balloun was brought in by Kayla Milstead’s hit to shallow left field.  After an intentional walk of Cheyenne Fults , the bases were loaded.  SAGU’s Kristin Stringer singled to the pitcher’s mound hitting in the game-winning run by Baylee McBrannon .

SAGU’s Hannah Lee pitched all seven innings.

The Lady Lions will play in the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament.  The pairings should be announced tomorrow.
