Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) softball Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament Oklahoma City University Texas Wesleyan University,

In game one, OCU held SAGU to only one hit by pitcher Ashley Abair. OCU picked up 11 hits, including one homerun by Madison Ellis.

SAGU played back to back on Thursday afternoon. Against the Lady Rams, first year head coach Sarah Harman believes this was her team’s best game yet, “We had a runner thrown out at home, a runner thrown out at third and we caught a base runner stealing second.  We also had overall great pitching from Hannah Lee.”

It was in the second inning that the Lady Lions scored all four of their runs.  The first run came after Bailey Balloun singled to first base, scoring Rieanha Cano .  Next, SAGU’s Kelsey Coburn came up big with a three run double to left field.

The Lady Lions were able to hold TWU to four nothing until the fifth inning when Lauren Gunter hit a home run to left-center field.

SAGU’s Hannah Lee pitched all seven innings.  She had one strike out while allowing eight hits.

Bailey Balloun went two for four at the plate, scoring one run with one RBI.

On Friday, March 6, 2016, at 1:00pm, SAGU will finish pool play against Mid-America Christian University .  MACU is currently 25-25.
