Waxahachie, Texas- November 21, 2015- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s soccer team lost a 1-0 match to Mid-American Christian University (MACU) in the opening round of the National Christian College Athletic Association’s (NCCAA) Central Regional tournament.
The Lady Lions ended their best season of play ever, going 9-11 overall. This was the second time SAGU played MACU. Earlier in the season the Evangels topped SAGU in a 2-1 victory.
On Friday, MACU’s Kaci Power scored two goals in the second half. SAGU goalkeeper Kathleen Espinoza stopped 11 shots for SAGU.
MACU’s win advances the Lady Evangels into the NCCAA Central Regional Championship for the second year in a row. MACU is now 9-8-1 for the season.
The women’s championship game will be played on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at 11:00am.
