vs. Texas Wesleyan University (L 8-1)

The Lady Lions were the ones to score first.  They put the run across the plate in the top of the second after Rieanha Cano grounded out to short stop, scoring Kristin Stringer in the process.

In the bottom of the third, TWU answered with a run of their own after getting two hits.

TWU’s big inning came in the bottom of the fifth when the Lady Rams scored five runs off of three hits and one SAGU error.

SAGU’s Rachel Ray pitched all six innings.  She had two strike-outs and 11 hits.  At the plate, Kristin Stringer was one for three with one run scored.

vs. Oklahoma City University (L 10-2)

The number one team in the nation scored four runs in the bottom of the first.  OCU’s Madison Ellis hit a three-run homer.

In the top of the second, SAGU was able to answer with two runs of their own, one from a bases loaded walk and another after a wild pitch.

SAGU was unable to score another run and OCU outhit the Lady Lions 12-2 for the contest.

Hannah Lee pitched all five innings for the Lady Lions. Cheyenne Fults went one for three with one run scored.

The Lady Lions will finish the tournament on Friday, May 5, 2017 with a game against Southwestern Christian University at 11am.  SAGU is 3-1 for this season’s series against SCU.
