Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) softball St. Gregory’s University
Game One (L 3-2)
The SAGU Lady Lions scored one run in the first inning. With two outs, Kayla Milstead doubled to deep left. Cheyenne Fults reached base on a SGU error, that also brought home Milstead.
In the bottom of the first, the Lady Cavaliers scored all three of their runs. Sammy Leisinger tripled to deep right field.
In the top of the third, SAGU was able to pull out one more run when Baylee McBrannon scored after a Destinee Vindiola single to second base.
SAGU’s Rachel Ray pitched all six innings. She had three strike outs and no walks.
SCU’s Chula Chavez picked up the win, with eight strike outs.
Kayla Milstead hit two for three with one double and one run scored. Cheyenne Fults also hit a double.
Game Two (L 16-5)
In game two, SCU outhit SAGU 14-8. St. Greg’s scored 16 runs in only four innings.
In the top of the fourth, SAGU scored three runs off of two hits. SAGU’s Kristin Stringer hit a three run home run over the left field fence on a 3-2 count.
Hannah Lee pitched one and one/third innings. Rachel Ray pitched one inning. Adrianna Barnes pitched one and two/thirds innings.
SCU’s Kasady Uhr pitched all five innings with two strike outs.
On Thursday, April 6, 2017, SAGU will travel to Texas Wesleyan . Game one of the doubleheader begins at 2pm. TWU is 16-14 for the season and 4-7 in the Sooner Athletic Conference .
