Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) softball team Southwestern Christian University

Game One (L 7-2)

The Lady Lions were able to tie the score 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth once they rallied after two outs. Bailey Balloun bunted and reached on a base hit.  Balloun went onto steal second base.  Next, Kelsey Coburn singled to short stop, advancing Balloun into scoring position. Kaitlin King came into pinch run for Coburn. Kristin Stringer singled to third, scoring Balloun.  Next, Ashley Nop singled to third, driving in King.

Unfortunately, the Lady Eagles went onto scored two runs in the top of the sixth and three runs in the top of the seventh.

Balloun went one for two with one run scored.  Stringer went two for three with one RBI.

SCU’s Jessica Orozco picked up the win on the mound.  She had eight strike outs and eight hits allowed.

Hannah Lee pitched all seven innings for SAGU.  She had one strike out.

Game Two (L 5-4)

SAGU’s Ashley Abair pitched seven innings for the Lady Lions.  She had one strike out and gave up nine hits.

SCU jumped to a quick lead and scored three quick runs in the top of the first.

SAGU’s Amber Gignac scored one run in the bottom of the first off of a SCU error.

In the bottom of the fifth, Stringer singled to first, driving in Bailey Balloun , making the score 3-2.

Once again the Lady Lions were able to rally after two outs to tie the score in the bottom of the seventh. Bailey Balloun made it on base after hitting a single to left field. Kelsey Coburn singled to the pitcher’s mound, advancing Balloun to third. Kristin Stringer singled to the pitcher’s mound, driving in Bailey Balloun and making the score 3-3.

In the eighth inning, the Lady Eagles scored two runs off of two hits and one SAGU error. Ashlyn Stanfill doubled to left-center, scoring Ashley Nop .  Unfortunately, the final score was 5-4.

Bailey Balloun went one for three with two runs scored. Kelsey Coburn went two for four with one RBI.
