Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) softball team Mid-America Christian University

SAGU ended pool play in the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament 1-2 after a big victory over the no. four seed Texas Wesleyan University.  The win over TWU was SAGU’s first post-season win ever.

The Lady Evangels started out the game in a big way.  MACU’s Katie Gracey hit a grand slam that capped off a five run first inning.

SAGU scored their two runs in the sixth inning but it simply wasn’t enough to overcome MACU’s offense.

Amber Gignac went two for three at the plate, scoring one run. Kaitlyn Canales had two hits for SAGU and Bailey Balloun had an RBI double.

Hannah Lee pitched five and two/thirds inning.  She had one strike out and allowed 11 hits. Ashley Abair came in relief and only pitched one/third of an inning.

MACU’s Morgan Wardlow picked up the win, striking out five while pitching all seven innings.

Tarryn Callender went three-of-four at the plate for the Lady Evangels.
