Lexi Rich hit a three with a few seconds left that would elevate the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions to the semi-finals of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament . SAGU defeated Mid-America Christian, 73-70 and will face the #1 seed Oklahoma City University Friday 2/29. The Stars swept the Lady Lions in the regular season, but SAGU had a chance to win it during the only meeting in OKC, a three was missed as time expired that would send the game to overtime.

The key to this game was the contribution from multiple parts of the SAGU team. Lexi Rich led the way with 20 points; Tamera Derrough was big off the bench with 13 points then NCCAA Player of the Week, Sydney Meador had 11 on the night. Eva Atunwa poured in 10 points and was in third in rebounding with six, next was Kiara Glenn with 9 points as she made four of her six shots. Rich and Jenna Price led the Lions in rebounds with seven. Alexis Shannon , respectively, had 17 points and Loralei Siliga had 13 for MACU.

The semi-finals will start with Wayland Baptist playing University of Science and Arts at 1 pm then SAGU will face OCU 20 minutes after game one ends. The winners will face each out Saturday at 1 pm for the SAC Championship and the winner being an automatic qualifier for the NAIA National Tournament .
