Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) women’s basketball Southwestern Christian University Sooner Athletic Conference

In the first quarter the Lady Lions took the 16-11 lead, but SCU was able to keep SAGU to only eight points in the second quarter.  At halftime, SAGU was trailing Southwestern Christian 29-24.

With 4:48 left in the third quarter, SAGU was able to pull within one point after Alexis McAfee made a basket putting the score at 37-36.  That was the closest SAGU could come in the second half.

With 3:11 left in the game, SCU’s score was extended to 11 after Amanda Janz made two free throws.

SAGU’s three seniors scored in double digits. Charity Page had 17 points and 14 rebounds, Alexis McAfee and Laken Ward each added 14 points.

SCU’s Eliora Johnson had a huge game with 33 points.

With the Lady Eagles win, they stay firmly in eight place in the Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC).  Lady Lions follow in ninth place.

On Thursday, February 16, 2017 SAGU will host Wayland Baptist University at 6pm.  WBU is in second place in the SAC with a 12-2 record and a 21-3 overall record.
