Waxahachie, Texas- June 13, 2015- The newest coach for Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) has been announced and Kaitlyn Hudgins will be KaitlynHudginsRStaking over the cheerleading team.  Hudgins is a 2013 graduate of SAGU and spent one and a half years cheering for the SAGU Lions. 

“I’ve always loved cheerleading so I didn’t have any hesitation when I was approached about the job.  I’m looking forward to my first season coaching and I have a great group of ladies that I’m excited to work with,” says Hudgins. 

Hudgins cheered for nine years, starting in junior cheer in elementary school and continuing throughout college before going to distance education.  At SAGU she was awarded with “Best All Around” for the cheer team. 

Cheer advisor Beverly Robinson couldn’t be more pleased with the new hire, “I am so thrilled to have Kaitlyn returning to our cheer team, as coach!  She is an outstanding young woman, as well as an experienced cheerleader.  She will lead the SAGU Cheer team to a new level.”

Hudgins is excited to get to work, “I hope to pour into their lives and I’m sure they’ll pour into mine as well.  My biggest desire is to see the cheerleading program at SAGU grow.”

Hudgins is married to Jared Hudgins, a 2011 SAGU graduate.  This summer Jared joined the football coaching staff.  Kaitlyn and Jared have one child, daughter Kinsley, who is two years old.
