Caleb “CJ” Celestino, ’14, Digital Media
student film and first ever feature-length film, Drawing a Blank. After a month of filming, he returned home to Taos, New Mexico, where he spends time brushing up on his Spanish and sign language. Living close to the mountains, he regularly rides his mountain bike, fishes and swims in the Rio Grande . In July, he travels to the southern banks of Wadi ‘Ajjuris to Tell es-Safi, Israel, as an embedded video journalist to film a mini-documentary of SAGU’s archaeological dig. Students from the SAGU Ancient Studies program are partnering with other universities to uncover a Philistine temple, evidence of a major earthquake in biblical times. Caleb says, “I look forward to being a light to my past. Coming home offers the opportunity to rekindle friendships and be of assistance to my community.”
