For the third time this season freshman, Zackery Hammond receives National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) and Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) Student-Athlete of the Week as he competed in the NAIA National Championship Meet . The 8k race started at 10:30 am in Cedar Rapids, Iowa , at the Seminole Valley Course with a total of 36 teams and 86 individual runners. Hammond was invited as an individual as well as teammate Adrian Cedillo for a total of 330 competitors. The freshman finished 91st out of 330 with a time of twenty-five minutes and thirty-nine seconds for one of the best finishes in school history. Cedillo, respectively, finished tied for 163 to place him in the top half of runners with a time of twenty-six minutes and thirty-five seconds. This will finish the historic 2018 season for the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lions with a top-four finish at the NCCAA National Race and a 2nd place finish at the SAC Meet.
