Waxahachie, Texas – September 10, 2015- The Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) men’s soccer team dropped a close game to Friends University (Kansas), losing 2-1.  SAGU is now 2-2 for the season.

The first half remained scoreless for both teams.  Friend’s attacked the goal, getting 11 shots off in the first half alone.

In the 48 th minute, Friend’s Demetri Karabinas scored. FU took the lead, 1-0.

SAGU was able to tie the game in the 71 st minute when Isai Velasquez Bonilla assisted Juan Hererra-Perla in the goal.

At 84:21, a foul was called on a SAGU player.  After an FU corner kick by Jack Cotter , Friend’s Frederico Tozi scored, making the final score 2-1 Friends.

SAGU goalkeeper Cesar Espana had an impressive 13 saves for the contest.

On Saturday, September 12, 2015, SAGU will travel to take on LeTourneau University (2-2).  Game time is schedule for 3:00pm.
