Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) football team Howard Payne University

Last week, SAGU came out on top of a 20-17 game against Austin College .  With five seconds to go in the game, AC attempted to kick a field goal to tie.  SAGU blocked the field goal to walk away with the win.  The Lions had 423 yards of total offense.  Against the Roos, SAGU had five fumbles.  Keeping possession of the ball will be top priority against the Yellow Jackets.

HPU walked away with a 44-34 loss against Wayland Baptist University .  The Yellow Jackets were down 44-13 in the third quarter before scoring three unanswered touchdowns to put them within 10 points.  HPU had 576 yards of total offense with three interceptions and three fumbles.

Howard Payne leads SAGU 4-2 in the all-time series against SAGU.  Last year , HPU topped the Lions 38-25.
