Burnett has been a member of the cheer team for the past two years. She has also been active in Street Hope, a ministry where SAGU students go to a church in south Dallas to feed homeless every Friday night.
Burnett will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, and plans to continue her education, getting a master’s in special education.
Serros says it’ll be sad to see Burnett graduate, “She is always laughing and has a positive attitude, always. She’s the first one to encourage her teammates when they are down and the first one to make sure no one is left behind.”
Burnett and the football seniors will be honored at halftime of Saturday’s game.
