Waxahachie, Texas— Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) junior quarterback CJ Collins was named National Christian College Athletic Association player of the week for his performance. SAGU defeated nationally ranked Arizona Christian University (ACU) 43-6 on Saturday.

Collins led SAGU with three passing touchdowns on 279 yards passing. He completed 73 percent (19 of 26) of his passes and rushed once for 14 yards.

Coach Frank Tristan was happy with the play of his quarterback and his leadership. Tristan says, “CJ is playing so well right now. He is smooth with the ball and has done a terrific job getting the ball distributed to the right people in the right time.”

SAGU enters their bye week this week and will play October 14 th against Wayland Baptist in their Homecoming game.
