OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) awards and accolades have been published. Three players from the Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) Lady Lions were listed in the SAC awards listings: Rylee Lavender, Taylor Moravcik, and Cailyn Tucker.

Rylee Lavender, from Brock, Texas, fueled the Lady Lion’s offensive attack scoring 12 points per game, and was named to the SAC honorable mention team. The sophomore guard is a first-time SAC honoree. The combination of Lavender’s adept ball-handling and long-range shooting abilities made her a dominant scorer in the conference.

With 238 rebounds at 9.2 per game, Taylor Moravcik was the SAC’s top rebounder and was named to the SAC honorable mention team. Moravcik had a team-high seven double-doubles, which included a game with 10 and 19 rebounds versus Wayland Baptist University.

Cailyn Tucker was named to the SAC All-Freshman team. Despite being a freshman, Tucker showed exceptional poise throughout the season, as seen by her 17-point outburst against Mid-America Christian University.

“It’s always exciting to see your players receive recognition for all the hard work they put in. We preach daily that if you put the team first, good things happen. These ladies are a blessing to our program,” SAGU head women’s basketball coach Michael Sons said.

As a leading Christian university, SAGU educates and prepares individuals who want to serve Christ and others. SAGU helps students discover and develop their God-given callings in a Spirit-empowered, learning community. We believe in affordable tuition, made possible in part through the financial support of donors who embrace the mission of SAGU and the importance of affordable, accredited programs to train Christians for leadership in ministry, business, education, and service. Most majors are available in-person in Waxahachie, TX, and online through a wide range of associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.
